  Italian leather has become a confusing term. Generally italian leather was regarded as the best in the world but this is the explanation:

  Tanning was a very filthy business and when health and safety laws and pollution laws came into affect a lot of the tanneries throughout the world closed down. Italy decided to take on the tanning industry for the world and hides are now shipped in from everywhere. Some countries produce better hides than others ie. Sweden, Switzerland, etc. where cows are looked after better and the climate is more temperate. Hides are not leather until they have been tanned therefore once they have been tanned in Italy they are called Italian leather. They actually produce some of the best leather and some of the worst depending on where the hides are produced.

  To confuse things even more some Italian tanneries and manufacturers are moving the businesses to China but as they are an Italian company they still call it Italian leather because it has more selling power than Chaniese leather!!

  I never knew the problems surrounding The Distance, so thanks for informing me with this video. I still very much like the song and wont change my mind. While agree that both Nugget and especially Italian Leather Sofa are very good songs, my favourite must be Stickshifts and Safetybelts. Even tho greatly inspired by country music, like all the other songs on the album Fashion Nuggets, it has an ironic or sarcastic distance to the music it

  designed my bachelor pad just like this. lots of from ikea,they have really nice stuff there for cheap and the nyc is gigantic so make sue you have lots of wall space and take measurements if planning on putting it above the sofa or tv…definitely bought my leather sofa/chair from leons though… ikea furniture might be a bad move. sorry ikea.
