I download practically everything I listen to, although when it comes to albums I truly really love, I keep a lookout for a physical CD I can actually purchase and keep till I’m dead. And I agree with Barb ; the Kaiser Chiefs have a very cool idea here, but I hope it doesn’t become a thing. It somehow bugs me that there isn’t going to be a definitive version of this album, and when someone talks about how much they love this new album, it’s never going to include anyone else’s experience of listening to it. I want the band’s album, so I’ll be right here till the end of a June, waiting for that.

Yes, I agree with you that the human interest stories are BS, but I suppose the commercials are necessary. (I don't like them, really, but) It cost a load of money to buy the rights to buy the rights to the Olympics, and without all those commercials, NBC would lose money. And I know a lot of sports may be going on at a time, but if there aren't (as in they're only one or two going on at once), it's live coverage, so NBC can't determine when they go on. In real time, you might have five-who knows how much minutes between something. Since it's live, NBC can't cut that out.

American tax dollars had just as much a stake in development of time sharing, networking etc (what ultimately would become the internet) as British and European but the idea of the world wide web was this guy’s who was working for CERN.
