What kind of video card slot does my motherboard have?
My computer is a Compaq Presario SR2150NX. its a couple of years old. The reason I want to know what video card slot the motherboard has is because I need to know if it can handle a high end video card, much like a NVIDIA GeFORCE or a ATI with 512mb of vido RAM. I not real sure. Look at the picture from Newegg of a motherboard (MOBO). You will see the card slots. See the long 4 white slots and to the right is one that is green. These are different and you may be trying the wrong slot.

I’ve been doing a massive upgrade of my computer over the last year in preparation for QuakeCon (only major piece of hardware that was the same last year is the CPU), and in doing that, looking up budget upgrades, I almost always see people saying you need a SSD. Since I needed a lot of space, I decided to hold off on it until I upgraded a few other critical parts (like getting a decent PCIe video card to replace my AGP video card, motherboard with a faster FSB, more and faster RAM, etc). I’ve gone from “lagging in Minecraft on Tiny render distance” to “Fragging people in Quake Live while Minecraft does some smelting, while a MMO is up in the background and not experiencing lag/stuttering.” My roommate had a less powerful computer for a time and he’s managed to play everything up to Fallout 2 without much of an issue, so I’m going to assume now that any game that I’m likely to be able to put on this, I’m going to be able to play – and I don’t see the lack of a SSD holding me back, nor do [...]
